The role

This is a newly created role and a great opportunity for a fully qualified senior accounting professional to make their mark on overseeing and enhancing a robust finance function within a listed, rapidly-growth international EdTech business. The role would ideally suit a candidate with experience in a Big4 accounting firm who has made the move into corporate or is looking to make the move after several years in audit and assurance and someone who has strong technical accounting skills, and preferred experience within an ASX-listed business with multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation requirements.


The role will own the internal and externally published financial results and have the opportunity to review current processes, controls and team structure within the finance & accounting team and be able to implement new or improved processes. This person will play a lead role in the review, selection and implementation of a new financial recording & forecasting software tool. The successful candidate will also provide technical financial support to the due diligence of potential acquisition targets and the integration of newly acquired businesses.

Duties include:

  • Conduct an initial review of all existing accounting and finance processes and controls.
  • Identify areas in need of improvement and establish new processes to address control gaps to ensure a high-degree of accuracy and efficiency within the team and its outputs.
  • Review and advise on the most appropriate team structure.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Interim Financial Report for listing purposes.
  • Review and advise on the current accounting systems and make recommendations on appropriate software for multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation and forecasting platform.
  • Assist with the half-year audit and preparation of the Interim Financial Report including the enhancement of the process, planning and tools used to prepare half-year and full-year external financial reports.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have CA/CPA qualification (or international equivalent) and 6-10 years post-qualified experience in financial accounting working for a mid to large organisations, listed company, preferably professional services.

Along with this, you will have experience in statutory reporting &audit process, experience in multi-currency, multiple entity consolidation, familiar with enterprise-level accounting software, strong financial control experience and technical foundation, advanced Excel and high attention to detail.
