The role

The Head of Exam Management oversees the business management of the Janison Exam Management (JEM), ensuring profitable event services for Janison’s in person and online remote proctored exam events. This role oversees all phases of the event from pre-sales, planning, execution and managing the post event functions of the department ensuring that all events meet Janison’s quality standards.

The Head of Exam Management oversees the recruitment, training, and management of Janison’s casual employment teams, with a strong focus on high quality and repeatable processes, and strict compliance to Fair work guidelines and the Award.

Other duties include:

  • The end-to-end management of all digital and face to face examinations events managed by JEM. Being a unit lead, this role will be quite hands on and operational – when there is work to be done, the JEM team all pitch in and get it done
  • Management the permanent JEM team, development of JEM strategy, policy, and processes.
  • Monitor performance and implement improvement initiatives in efficiency, cost, and service level
  • Responsible for the recruitment, training, and ongoing HR requirements of JEM’s casual workforce (proctors, invigilators, flex support and authoring teams) ensuring that all compliance requirements are understood and adhered to.
  • Development and management of key customer relationships with the aim to increase customer retention and reduce attrition risk.
  • Ongoing performance management of direct reports, as well as key BAU duties such as regular check ins, performance reviews, goal setting and development conversations.
  • Responsible for the management of JEM’s CAPEX and OPEX budgets, ensuring that costs are managed to budget. Provide support on monthly invoicing to the accounts receivable team.
  • Build and adhere to an event budget to maintain GM% and avoid project overruns
  • Venue management - including WWP tenancy relationship and external venue short term hires.
  • Support the GTM team to achieve JEM revenue targets.
  • Flexibility with working hours which may include some weekend work.

About you

Experience in event management and/or degree equivalent

Attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Clear concise communication skills both verbal and written

Build and maintain customer relationships. Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.

Good time management skills, excellent leadership skills. Technical proficiency to quickly learn new software’s and tools

Desirable to have

Experience in the management of exams both online and face to face

To be able to problem solve and negotiate

Event plan according to budgets and ensure adherence
