The role

We are seeking casual markers for ICAS Writing which will be held from Monday 25/10 to Saturday 6/11, as well as to be included in our marker database for future marking projects. Markers are responsible for using their literacy knowledge and understanding of student achievement standards to apply the marking criteria accurately and reliably. Markers will mark using an online system and work from home. They will be required to attend online training sessions and to be available for the length of the marking project, including Saturdays.

Other duties include:

  • undertake training according to Janison’s procedures and instructions
  • accurately and reliably apply the marking criteria to assess student work
  • maintain the security and confidentiality of all assessment information and materials.

About you

To be successful in this position, you must have demonstrated teaching experience and an understanding of student performance in literacy in the primary or secondary years of schooling. You will be able to work independently in an online environment from home. If you also have experience marking a criterion-referenced assessment (e.g. NAPLAN, IELTS), we would love to have you on board.
