The role

The IT Support Officer provides IT services to internal staff. This role is primarily responsible for providing end-user support to a wide variety of users.  Besides, the IT Support Officer is responsible for the management of hardware and software inventory, as well as the implementation of processes that benefit daily operational tasks.

The role supports current and reviews new end-user technologies, develops standard end-user environments, and automates desktop and service desk tasks to improve service delivery. This individual manages corporate backup and software licenses.

The key to success is technical knowledge, alongside the ability to find creative solutions.


Other duties include:

  • Support Janison staff to ensure they have appropriate IT equipment allocated and maintained to an operational state
  • Develop standard operating environments on company-owned devices to ensure usability, performance, and security requirements are maintained
  • Administration of Office 365, Azure inTune and, Sharepoint, communication services (Skype for business and Microsoft Teams), Active Directory (users, groups, and contacts).
  • Automate service desk and desktop support tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell)
  • Manage internal server hardware, peripherals, services, configuration, file and storage per standards and project/operational requirements
  • Evaluate and assess the viability of end-user technology devices to include new laptops, Macs, mobile devices, and tablets.
  • Manage procurement, installation, allocation, and renewal of software licenses.
  • Ensure Laptops/Desktops/mobile devices are protected and compliance with ISO27001 standard.
  • Manage within ITIL framework

About you

To be successful in this role you will have experience administrating Office 365, Azure Intune, SharePoint, as well as Active Directory services, Group Policy, ADFS, Azure AD, Skype, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Itunes and VOIP solutions. You have strong customer service and great communication skills. You will ideally have experience managing Wireless networks and controllers and scripting language such as PowerShell and office365 management shell.  Essential to this role is experience with Windows 10, windows server 2012/2016/2019 and backup services.
