As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for effective design, provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and ongoing maintenance of the Janison network systems and related infrastructure. Participating in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the network infrastructure space at Janison. Ensuring that network systems and related procedures adhere to organisational values, enabling staff to perform their respective roles, and enabling Janison internal and external clients to consume IT services.

You will work closely with the Architecture, DevOps and Security teams during the planning and implementation phases of projects and assists project teams with technical issues identified during project delivery phases. This also involves working with the wider operations Platform team for design, provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and ongoing maintenance of other Janison IT systems.

As a Senior Network Engineer will be required to work on client systems that are protected by state and/or federal security mechanisms. You must hold, or be willing/able to obtain, relevant security clearances as required.

Other duties include:

  • Engineers network solutions to achieve business goals.
  • Installations and configuration of network systems to support the delivery of IT Services.
  • Developing and maintaining network systems.
  • Managing the security of all data in transit and performs routine system monitoring.
  • Working with the latest network technologies to deliver a stable platform for our customers
  • Reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as network device backups
  • Performing regular network security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
  • Ensuring the security and integrity of Janison network systems and corporate data
  • Working with network systems both on-prem and in the Azure cloud.
  • Working with other teams for the deployment and maintenance of other Janison IT systems based on-prem and in the Azure cloud.
  • Repairing and recovering from network hardware or software failures. Coordinates and communicates with impacted clients.
  • Working with clients to resolve technical issues.
  • Participates in IT-related projects as required – both internal and client-facing
  • Creation and maintenance of documentation
  • 100% coverage over all networks, performing regular maintenance, security audits, backups and upgrades and ensuring network uptime of 99.95%
  • Achieve Azure hosting savings in line with business goals, support all IT related projects where required


To be successful in the role you will have advanced experience in designing and implementing cloud-based network solutions. You will have experience in advanced skills using Azure network technologies, including Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Application Gateways, Load Balancers, Public IPs, Traffic Managers, FrontDoor etc.

You will also have advanced knowledge in designing, installing, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting networking systems, including VNETs, VPN tunnels, DNS, wireless networks, and firewalls. Skills in managing network services and technologies such as Cisco, HP, WatchGuard, Imperva, and Verizon.

You will have experience with implementing and maintaining security standards such as ISO 27001, Australian ISM, GDPR, and ITIL into corporate network systems having an Azure solution architect certification, or similar, would be an advantage.

You will have relevant tertiary or industry qualifications, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training, and experience. This can include a degree or higher in IT, Microsoft certifications, along with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal and external clients. You will also have ability to create professional network design and implementation documents and reports

It is desirable to have experience in deploying, installing, managing other IT supporting systems like Windows Server 2008-2019, Server management, IIS, SQL Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Office 365, DHCP, ADFS, SSO, MFA, Domain Controllers, etc
