The role

The Performance Engineer role will be responsible for the test management of a small to medium initiatives for Performance Testing

 

Duties include:

  • Provide input into Performance test estimates
  • Ensure Performance testing scope is finalised prior to testing commencement
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, Product Owners, Developer and other stakeholders to ensure testing addresses the project/initiative performance needs and timelines without sacrificing quality
  • Ensure performance standards are monitored with the appropriate use of test metrics
  • Complete Performance documentation as required for each initiative based on the Testing Engagement Standardised Artefact List
  • Prepare Performance Test Scenarios and Test Scripts
  • Prepare Performance test data to support Performance Test Scripts
  • Co-ordinate performance test environments and infrastructure needed to support test execution
  • Execute Performance Test Scripts
  • Provide regular Performance Test Status reporting throughout the testing
  • Prepare Performance Test Summary reporting on completion
  • Track and triage defects with the PM/Ops/Tech Lead/PO through the project or initiative
  • Identification and accurate reporting of issues and risks to the Project Manager or initiative owner
  • Make recommendations to management as to the fitness of the solution based on the performance findings that will guide the direction for the ultimate production deployment

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate hands on skills in load testing, including Benchmark, Peak, Load Testing, Stress testing, Volume testing, Endurance testing and Spike testing of applications. You will have programming experience with C#, ASP.NET, Javascript, HTML, Powershell scripting, as well as testing tool experience with Jmeter and Blazemeter.

You will have prior end to end management of the performance test lifecycle and strong experience with Azure base architecture.

You demonstrate ability to communicate and co-ordinate with both technical and not technical stakeholders and able to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team.
