The role

The Strategic GM will be an experienced and accomplished leader who has a proven track record in building and leading government and higher education go-to-market teams.

The Strategic GM is responsible for ensuring the strategy, success, expansion and retention of our largest customers, and the growth of our higher education market share globally.
Focussing on becoming a trusted advisor and solving customer challenges and providing real business value via solutions sales leadership.
This includes empowering, supporting and upskilling your team via inclusive and authentic leadership. The team spans business development, account management, and solutions engineering across Australia and the United Kingdom.

Core to the Strategic GM role is working collaboratively cross functionally both internally and externally with partners and customers to ensure joint alignment and success.

You will be key sector expert and represent Janison at executive engagements, thought leadership and external events.

Duties include:

  • Lead the Strategic team comprising of business development, account management and solution engineering employees. Including attracting, retaining and growing talent.
  • Represent Janison as a senior leader externally in customer facing meetings, presentations, thought leadership and executive engagements.
  • Be the Janison champion internally for your customers ensuring we are across their needs and business goals.
  • Be responsible for achievement of the revenue and profit of the Strategic sales team, ensuring that your team achieves and or exceed your goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This includes proactive acquisition of new customers to grow the pipeline/forecast for our government and higher education markets.
  • Partner with Marketing to create market development plans.
  • Work to ensure customer success and avoid churn or customer attrition.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive leadership experience with large and complex business with a proven track record of sales target achievement in government and high education and deep experience in building new markets.

You have a strong strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills and strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in leading P&L’s.

It is highly desirable previous education experience focussed on assessments or B2B technology specifically relating to SaaS.
