The role

The Systems Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure, enabling Janison internal and external clients to consume IT services. You will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.

This role assists project teams during the planning phase and assists project teams with technical issues identified during project delivery phases. These activities include technical analysis and design; and support of the IT Operations team in executing, testing, and deploying solutions.

This individual is accountable for the following systems:

– Systems that provide services to the broader Janison business
– Active Directory, Office 365, Jira, Zendesk, Octopus, TeamCity
– Systems that provide services to Janison clients
– Services that are provisioned to support Janison strategic and tactical goals
– Working with the latest Azure technologies to deliver a stable platform for our customers

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have advanced skills in:

  • Using Microsoft SQL Technologies, including managing SQL server, SQL database ad SQL Server Agent and ELT process
  • Installing, managing, monitoring and troubleshooting systems related to hosting websites including Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server and database, DNS, file storage, SFTP, and SSL certificate management
  • Installing, managing, monitoring and troubleshooting Windows Server-based systems including Windows Server 2008 and onwards, Hyper-V, VNETs, DNS, and firewalls, DHCP, Server Management, Active Directory, Domain Controllers, and ADFS.
  • managing network services and technologies such as Imperva, Radware, Verizon and WatchGuard

You will have relevant tertiary or industry qualifications, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training, and experience. This can include a degree or higher in IT, Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE or others).

It is essential to this role that you hold or be willing/able to obtain, relevant security clearances as you will be required to work on client systems that are protected by state and/or federal security mechanisms.
