Having served as President and CEO of Intealth from 2016-2024, William W. Pinsky is President and Chief Executive Officer Emeritus of Intealth, of which ECFMG and FAIMER are divisions.
Dr. Pinsky has had a distinguished academic career as a Pediatric Cardiologist, Educator, Researcher, and Administrative leader. Prior to Intealth Dr. Pinsky was Executive Vice President and Chief Academic Officer of the Ochsner Health System (OHS) in Louisiana. He also served as Executive Vice President of Ochsner International and Professor and Head of the Ochsner Clinical School, a U.S. partner of the University of Queensland School of Medicine in Australia. Dr. Pinsky retains an Honorary Professor title from the University of Queensland. Before joining OHS, he held several senior academic and executive roles at Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSUSOM) in Detroit, Michigan, and at the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) including Chief of Pediatric Cardiology, Vice-Chair Department of Pediatrics, Associate Dean WSUSOM, President Sinai Hospital, and Chief Medical Officer of DMC.
Dr. Pinsky has been noted to be an innovative leader. This has been demonstrated by his devising and executing the very successful OHS-University of Queensland partnership, enabling US students to combine their medical education in Australia and the US. He also founded the Racing for Kids 501c3 foundation in 1989, utilizing professional motorsports to promote the health care need of children and childrens’ hospitals. This continuing foundation is recognized to be the longest running children’s charity in motorsports.
Dr. Pinsky has been a sought after resource for numerous US and international organizations. This includes the American Academy of Pediatrics Cardiology Executive Council, the American College of Cardiology Congenital Heart Committee (Chair), the Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers Board (President), the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education Board, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Board (Executive, Finance, and Monitoring Committees), and the World Federation of Medical Education Executive Council (Finance, QA and risk committees).
Dr. Pinsky currently serves on both the National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation of the U.S. Department of Education and the US Army War College Foundation. Dr. Pinsky continues to work closely with the leadership of numerous national and international organizations involved in medical education and health professions regulation.
A pediatric cardiologist, Dr. Pinsky received his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine and trained at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Cardiology, and the American College of Chest Physicians. His honors include the Leadership Award from the Faculty of Medicine and Biological Sciences of the University of Queensland, the Founders Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics, 2024 Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Special Recognition Award.
