Janison wins two major awards at the 2026 e-Assessment Awards

Jai recognised for innovation and impact in AI-powered assessment development.

Janison has won two major awards at the 2026 e-Assessment Awards in London, reinforcing the company’s position as a leader in both large-scale digital assessment delivery and responsible AI innovation.

Janison’s AI-powered assessment management platform, Jai, was awarded:

  • AI in Content and Test Development Award
  • AI in Assessment Overall Excellence Award

The e-Assessment Awards are among the most respected global awards programs in digital assessment and learning technology, attracting submissions from leading assessment organisations, publishers, examination boards and education technology providers from around the world.

The AI in Assessment Overall Excellence Award is selected from the winners of all AI categories and recognises the solution judged to have delivered the most significant impact and innovation across assessment. Winning both a category award and the overall AI excellence award represents significant industry recognition of Janison’s approach to responsible AI in assessment.

The award-winning submission highlighted Janison’s work with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), where Jai has helped accelerate the development of high-quality assessment content while maintaining rigorous human oversight, quality assurance and fairness controls.

The recognition comes at a time when assessment organisations around the world are exploring how artificial intelligence can be applied responsibly across assessment development and delivery. As the industry navigates the opportunities and challenges presented by AI, organisations are increasingly seeking solutions that improve efficiency while maintaining quality, validity, fairness and human oversight.

Jai was developed to help assessment organisations, professional bodies, publishers and education providers achieve exactly that balance. By combining artificial intelligence with structured quality controls and expert review, the platform enables assessment teams to scale content development while preserving the standards that underpin trusted assessment.

Janison Chief Executive Officer Sujata Stead said the awards recognise both Janison’s assessment expertise and its commitment to responsible innovation.

“Assessment organisations around the world are looking for practical ways to harness AI while maintaining trust, quality and integrity,” said Stead.

“We believe the future lies in combining human expertise with responsible AI, and this recognition demonstrates the value of that approach. It also reflects Janison’s unique ability to bring together trusted assessment delivery at scale with meaningful innovation that helps customers solve real-world challenges.”

The awards also recognise the vision and leadership of Janison founder, and Director of AI research, Wayne Houlden, who conceived and led the development of Jai.

“Wayne’s vision for how AI could support assessment development while preserving the expertise and judgement of assessment professionals has been instrumental in shaping Jai. This recognition is a testament to that vision and to the exceptional team that has helped bring it to life,” Stead said.

Janison has long been recognised as a leader in the reliable delivery of complex, high-stakes digital assessments at scale. These awards demonstrate the company’s growing leadership in responsible AI innovation and reinforce a powerful combination that is increasingly valued by customers: trusted delivery and meaningful innovation.

Together, these capabilities help organisations embrace the future of assessment with confidence.
