AAS Assessment Consultant

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and commercially focused AAS Assessment Consultant to join Janison’s School Assessments & Partnerships team. Janison designs and delivers data-rich assessment and diagnostic tools used by schools to support student selection, placement, performance improvement and academic enrichment. In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth across Janison’s school assessment portfolio including Academic Assessment Services (AAS) Scholarship & Placement Tests, QATS, the PSAM platform – and the annual ICAS competition. 

You will build and maintain trusted relationships with principals, deputy principals, academic directors, and other key decision-makers, positioning AAS and ICAS products as high-value assessment solutions within their schools. Your primary focus will be new business development and account growth across a defined geographic territory in Australia.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Revenue & Business Development
  • Own and deliver revenue targets for the AAS portfolio (Scholarship & Placement Tests and PSAM) within your assigned territory. 
  • Manage and take ownership of prescribed territories with responsibility for retention and growth of existing ICAS schools and development of new school partnerships  
  • Achieve prescribed revenue growth targets for the ICAS suite of assessments  
  • Develop and execute territory plans to drive adoption of AAS and ICAS products in both independent and government school sectors. 
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through to proposal, negotiation, and contract close. 
  • Monitor pipeline health, track conversion metrics, and implement corrective actions where required.

2. School Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain senior relationships with principals, deputy principals, academic directors, and other key decision-makers. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to school leaders, demonstrating how AAS and ICAS assessments can inform student selection, placement decisions, performance improvement and academic enrichment.  
  • Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to school leadership teams and relevant staff. 
  • Attend education events, conferences, and trade shows to promote AAS and ICAS products and grow Janison’s profile in the sector.

3. Account Management & Retention

  • Maintain and grow revenue from existing AASand ICAS school accounts through proactive relationship management and identification of upsell or cross-sell opportunities. 
  • Partner with the Customer Service and Operations teams to ensure smooth delivery and an exceptional school experience. 
  • Support schools through onboarding and ensure they are set up to maximise value from AAS and ICAS products. 
  • Manage annual cross portfolio projects such as the DEEP/University of Sydney partnership  
  • Resolve client issues promptly and collaboratively, escalating where appropriate.

4. Collaboration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activity, pipeline status, and client interactions in the CRM. 
  • Participate in regular sales meetings, team forums, and training sessions. 
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to inform product development, marketing campaigns, and go-to-market strategy. 
  • Collaborate with the Head of School Assessments & Partnerships and broader commercial team to contribute to annual growth planning and territory strategy. 

 

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in a sales, business development, or account management role, with a track record of achieving revenue targets.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior school leaders and present to both small and large groups.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to manage and grow a geographic territory independently.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline, activity tracking and client records.
  • Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel within territory.

Desirable:

  • Experience selling into the K-12 education sector or EdTech industry.
  • Understanding of the Australian school assessment landscape, including private and government school structures.
  • Background in teaching, school leadership or education administration.
  • Familiarity with AAS products including Scholarship & Placement Tests or PSAM.
