Head of Innovation
Position summary
As the Head of Innovation, you will be our chief visionary, responsible for looking over the horizon to define where our products need to go and why. You will own the 3–5-year product vision, drive our innovation agenda—including the strategic application of AI—and ensure the company is positioned to win in the future. This is a role that connects multiple stakeholder groups, requiring you to be the voice of our product vision to the market, our customers, and key internal stakeholders.
Duties & responsibilities
- Product Vision & Long-Range Strategy: Develop, articulate, and champion a compelling 3–5-year product vision and strategic plan that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Innovation & Emerging Technologies: Lead research and development into new market opportunities and disruptive technologies. Spearhead our AI strategy, identifying and validating opportunities to leverage machine learning, generative AI, and data analytics to create transformative value for our users.
- Product Leadership: Lead the ongoing development of our AI-based product, Janison AI (“Jai”), which empowers content developers to generate and evaluate assessment items at speed.
- Market & Customer Intelligence: Become the company’s foremost expert on the EdTech landscape, competitive forces, market trends, and evolving customer needs. Build and maintain a continuous feedback loop from senior customer stakeholders and industry leaders.
- Stakeholder Alignment & Evangelism: Serve as the primary product evangelist to the C-suite, Board of Directors, investors, and strategic partners. Communicate the product vision and strategy with passion and clarity to secure buy-in and inspire confidence. Work closely with the Head of Product to ensure that product delivery is aligned with the strategy.
- Business Case Development: Partner with Finance, Sales, and Marketing to create robust business cases for significant new investments, including market sizing, pricing and packaging strategies, and revenue forecasting.
- Thought Leadership: Represent Janison at industry conferences, in webinars, and through written content, establishing yourself and the company as a leader in EdTech innovation.
About you
Essential:
- 10+ years of experience in product management or product strategy, with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role within a B2B SaaS environment.
- Proven track record of developing and launching innovative products, with specific experience in conceptualising and applying AI/ML technologies to solve user problems.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills; capable of engaging and influencing audiences from engineers to board members.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience building data-driven business cases.
- A natural innovator and strategic thinker, constantly curious and able to connect disparate ideas into a cohesive vision.
- Experience operating in a highly cross-functional and ambiguous environment.
Desirable:
- Deep domain expertise in the EdTech industry is highly preferred.
