Product Manager
Position Summary:
As Product Manager for Janison Insights, you’ll lead product strategy for our flagship assessment platform, serving government education bodies and large organisations across Australia and the globe. You’ll manage a small team of product owners and collaborate with scrum teams to deliver features that help schools and education systems measure and improve student outcomes.
With people around Australia, Singapore, Auckland and London you will work as part of a distributed team. Must be willing to work Australian Eastern Standard Time business hours. Preferably located near one of our offices in Sydney, Coffs Harbour or Melbourne. There will be some occasional travel required to client sites and team locations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Insights.
- Lead and mentor 2-3 product owners, business analysts and designers.
- Drive discovery with enterprise clients to identify high-value opportunities.
- Define and prioritise features based on client needs and business impact.
- Engage directly with government and enterprise stakeholders to shape requirements.
- Collaborate across engineering, design, and client success teams.
- Identify strategic opportunities through market analysis and competitive research.
- Support pre-sales activities to identify product-market fit and assess development requirements.
- Identify and lead process improvements for the product team.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:
- 5+ years in product management roles, with progressive responsibility.
- 2+ years directly managing or leading other product people (product owners, analysts, or junior PMs).
- Experience working with scrum/agile teams and managing roadmaps across multiple squads.
- Excellent presentation skills to present strategy to leadership and demo software to clients.
- Experience with platform products serving diverse client configurations.
- Direct experience engaging with senior client stakeholders (C-suite, government officials, procurement teams).
- Strong business analysis skills and ability to translate business needs into product requirements.
Desirable:
- Track record working with long sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, and contract-driven delivery.
- Involvement in pre-sales, RFP responses, or solution shaping for enterprise deals.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business, technology, design, education, or similar)
(Note: Equivalent experience and demonstrated capability are valued over formal credentials) - Experience in education, EdTech, or assessment industries.
