Senior Developer
Position Summary
The Senior Developer is responsible for delivering high quality, secure and resilient technology solutions that support client requirements and enhance Janison platforms. This role combines strong hands-on engineering with technical judgement, operational awareness and mentorship. The Senior Developer is expected to contribute to system design, improve code quality and engineering standards, and proactively reduce technical and operational risk.
In this specialised role you will work closely with Project, Product, Support, and Development teams to investigate and provide best-in-class technological solutions via strong, detailed, technical insights that improve system performance and reliability. You will work to deadlines, often managing concurrent deliverables.
We are open to applicants across Australia who can work during AEST/AEDT business hours.
Duties & Responsibilities
Platform Enhancement (Coding):
- Contribute to system and feature design, ensuring alignment with architecture standards and long-term maintainability
- Develop maintainable code that aligns with Janison’s coding, accessibility, and quality standards, work with the team to ensure code is error–free, simple to follow, and accurate to requirement.
- Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, security and accessibility
- Contribute to technical and process documentation as required
Support :
- Assist with diagnostics and troubleshooting of issues in production environments during large-scale events
- Proactively identify risks in design and implementation before release
- Contribute to improving automated testing coverage and CI/CD practices
- Support production readiness activities, including validation and performance considerations
Stakeholders & Communication:
- Provide ongoing, timely, clear/concise, proactive and reactive updates to both internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Communicate technical risks, trade-offs and impacts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Contribute to stakeholder workshops with informed technical insights
- Review project communication/ documentation providing constructive feedback to ensure quality
- Participate in stakeholder workshops where required
Team Collaboration:
- Build team competency by providing guidance on code behaviour
- Build and maintain relationships with all Project and BAU team members, includes client relationships
- Assist other team members as needed to ensure overall Program success.
- Collaborate with the project SCRUM team, actively contributing to ceremonies and on-time sprint delivery to improve the platform.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Essential:
- Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise-grade applications in C# / .NET
- Deep understanding of software design principles and maintainable architecture patterns
- Experience working with relational databases and performance optimisation
- Strong understanding of front-end application design and modern JavaScript frameworks (in TypeScript, HTML, CSS, & modern JavaScript practices)
- Experience working in CI/CD environments and collaborative code review practices
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve production issues in live environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical decisions
Desirable:
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a willingness to mentor and coach team members?
- Experience improving automated test coverage
