The role

Janison are hiring Exam Invigilators/Supervisors to join our dynamic casual invigilation team for important academic test events running across NSW on 9 May and 1 August 2024.

We are seeking reliable, positive, and enthusiastic individuals with strong communication skills, a commitment to upholding fairness and equality, as well as punctuality and reliability. In this casual position, you’ll collaborate with other professional Invigilators to create a positive testing environment for young students, supporting test delivery and upholding test integrity

This role will require you to: 

  1. Complete Training: Complete required training to be well-prepared for test day, understanding procedures and your role as an invigilator.
  2. Manage Test Materials: hand out test papers, answer sheets, and required items to ensure each student has the correct materials.
  3. Admin Tasks and Procedures: Manage test-related administrative duties, record attendance, oversee form completion, and enforce testing protocols.
  4. Supervise Children: Throughout the test event, provide active and constant supervision for children aged 9 to 12 to ensure a positive, focused and organised testing environment. Be available to clarify instructions without influencing answers.
  5. Manage Time: Track testing time, announce transitions, and coordinate breaks for a quiet and organised testing environment

 

Strict requirements:

  • Availability on 9 May and 1 August 2024
  • Working with Children Check (for paid work)

 

Successful applicants will be allocated test venues near their home addresses, with venue preferences considered where possible. Applicants from remote and regional NSW are encouraged.

Who should apply?

To qualify for this position, you must:

  • Hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check suitable for paid employment or be willing to promptly apply for one, with a commitment to sharing details upon receipt.
  • Possess legal working rights in Australia.
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Reside in NSW.
  • Have no affiliation with tutoring or coaching schools/colleges.

The ideal candidate should have the following Experience and Qualities:

  • Previous experience in invigilating or test supervision (desirable)
  • Ideal Attributes; Punctuality, Reliability, Professionalism, Approachability, Positive Attitude.
