Janison has appointed its inaugural Chief Academic Officer, a role that it has created to provide an educator’s voice and leadership and a greater focus the academic framework and pedagogical approach that underpins Janison’s work.
Sara Ratner, who will also continue her role as Group Executive PISA for Schools, commences the position today and brings with her a rich, working knowledge of education systems with more than 20 years’ experience in the classroom, as school principal, thought leader and board advisor as well as her advanced academic qualifications in Education and Psychology.
Janison’s CEO David Caspari said: “Sara’s expertise in education and assessment alongside her strong business acumen, strategic mindset and outstanding work to date in leading Janison’s global knowledge partnership with the OECD made her the obvious choice for this role.
“Her acadamic prowess, extensive educator network and commercial skills have been proven through her work to lead the OECD PISA for Schools project globally. Growing the business significantly over the past 12 months, she has leveraged a unique blend of pedagogical understanding and strategic thinking together with cultural sensitivity, political nuance and commercial talent.”
The Chief Academic Officer (CAO) will support customers to make impactful change using Janison’s platform and products to improve education outcomes for learners. Partnering across the business, and in collaboration with schools, state and national education leaders and governments, the CAO will seek to solve academic, research, curricular and pedagogical problems—at scale— through the strategic application of Janison’s world-leading platform and products.
With the recent acquisitions of Academic Assessment Services, Quality Assessment Tasks, in addition to supporting the ICAS Assessments and PISA for Schools products, the CAO will also work across the business to ensure that Janison’s future roadmap for schools and parents is informed by world-leading research and pedagogical thinking.
The CAO will bolster Janison’s authentic commercial partnerships with education leaders at school, district, state and national levels, and leading inter-governmental education projects.
